Pete is one of evee’s newer hosts (having joined the platform in 2022), but that hasn’t stopped him from being a key presence in our community. Representing the non-Tesla sector of the electric vehicle market, Pete has a Kia EV6 GT-Line and Kia Niro EV GT-Line available to rent on evee, which are both charged from an at-home 8kW solar system ☀️ Here’s what he had to say about Kia EV’s:
What made you buy a Kia EV? I like the Kia brand and styling, their driving range, fast-charging capability, and growing reputation for quality and innovation. I particularly like that they have interactive push buttons, paddles and switches on the steering wheel, making driving adjustments simple. The adjustable regen braking, V2L and head-up display right in front of you are also great features!
What are they like to drive? Very spacious and comfortable, a smooth ride and great handling. The variable drive modes (eco, normal and sport) make them exciting and adaptable to different driving conditions. They also allow you to vary the amount of tech you employ, whether it’s “i-Pedal” (one pedal driving), adaptive cruise control or lane keep and steering assist.
What do your renters have to say about Kia EVs? So far they’ve been very impressed with the range, ease of operation, i-Pedal, sport mode acceleration and comfortable driving, not to mention the road handling in longer road trips and circumnavigations of Tasmania. Operating a Kia EV can be very straightforward, similar to what you’re used to in an ICE car, and you can step up into the more advanced features as you become acquainted with the vehicle.
Which EV are you most excited to see in the 2023 Australian market? The EV6 with Kia Connect, MG4, BYD Dolphin, Tesla Model 2, and the Tesla Model Y with head up display. Also the Hyundai Ioniq 6!
